Okonomiyaki

Have you ever eaten Okonomiyaki?

I took our students to Okonomiyaki restaurant a while ago.

Okonomiyaki is Japanese pancake containing a variety of ingredients, and okonomiyaki means “cook/grill what you like/want”.

You mix all the vegetables, flour, and egg, and then grills at tables fitted with teppan (an iron plate). Of course you can put seafood or meat in it, coz it is Okonomiyaki!

After you grill like pancake, you put the sauce, aonori*, mayonnaise, and katsuobushi**.
*aonori is a type of edible green seaweed
** katsuobushi is dried, fermented, and smoked skipjack tuna

Our students loved it!
They even got excited to eat Okonomiyaki!

Who would like to join us for Okonomiyaki next time?
